Acceptance of These Terms
By accessing EEM Marketplace, creating an account, or placing an order, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the marketplace or place an order.
Eligibility and Your Account
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to place an order. You are responsible for providing accurate account and delivery information, for keeping your login credentials confidential, and for all activity that takes place under your account.
Orders and Order Acceptance
Placing an order through checkout is an offer to buy, not a confirmed sale. We may decline, cancel, or limit any order, including in cases of suspected fraud, pricing or listing errors, unavailable stock, or export or import restrictions affecting the product or destination. If we cancel an order after payment has been taken, we will refund the amount paid in full.
Order Quantity Limit
To keep personal orders simple and compliant with Ethiopian export regulations, orders placed through standard checkout are limited to 5 kg of product per order, calculated across the combined weight of everything in your cart. This limit is enforced automatically at checkout. If you need a larger volume for resale, catering, or another commercial purpose, please request a commercial quote instead of using standard checkout. Commercial orders are priced, documented, and fulfilled through a separate process.
Pricing and Payment
All prices are shown in the currency displayed at checkout and may change at any time before you complete your order; changes do not affect an order already confirmed. Full payment is required before an order is processed. We use third-party payment providers to process payments and do not store your full card details on our servers.
Shipping, Customs Duties and Import Taxes
Orders are shipped internationally by DHL Express from Ethiopia to the delivery address you provide. Shipping costs are calculated and shown to you before you complete checkout, based on the weight, dimensions, and destination of your order. Depending on your country's import regulations, your order may be subject to customs duties, import taxes, brokerage fees, or other charges imposed by your local customs authority. These charges are separate from and not included in our shipping costs. As the recipient, you are solely responsible for paying any such duties, taxes, and fees, and for complying with your country's import rules. We cannot predict these amounts and are not responsible for delays caused by customs clearance.
Delivery, Risk and Title
Delivery times shown at checkout or in tracking updates are estimates, not guarantees, and can be affected by customs processing or events outside our control. Risk of loss or damage passes to you once the order is handed over to DHL for delivery. Title to the products passes to you once your order has been paid for in full.
Returns, Refunds and Cancellations
Returns, refunds, and order problems are handled under our Return Policy, which forms part of these Terms. Because coffee and similar goods are perishable, some products may not be eligible for return once shipped or delivered.
Product Descriptions and Availability
We work with our brand partners to describe products, roast profiles, and packaging as accurately as possible, but small variations in appearance, weight, or flavor notes can occur naturally from batch to batch. Product availability, pricing, and specifications may change without notice, and we do not guarantee that any product will remain in stock.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, EEM Marketplace and its brand partners are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of the marketplace or an order, including lost profits or delays caused by shipping, customs, or events outside our reasonable control. Our total liability for any claim relating to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, including under mandatory consumer protection law that applies to you.
Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the marketplace is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ethiopia, except where mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to our services, legal requirements, or business practices. Updates take effect as soon as they are posted on this page, and your continued use of the marketplace after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
